Deadhead

Cleaning out the garden... thought I'd put the dead foliage and weeds to good use~

One of my favorite Poets left today. May your light and wisdom continue on. RIP

Orange you glad it's Friday!

Mya and I made this scrumptious scenery last night-
Snow pea Palm tree leaves with a celery and peanut butter trunk,
Popcorn clouds,
grassy knoll of Peas
and a bike made from an Orange.
Then she made a cucumber car...
followed by a fennel face (paper eyes, pea nose and mint lips)

Native American Wisdom

Found this little sketch I drew in High School... probably was around 16 years old. Wanted to piece it with a stripe of advice.

Have a joyous day!

“If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance of flowers and sweet-scented herbs, it is more elastic, more starry, more immortal- that is your success. All nature is your congratulation, and you have cause momentarily to bless yourself. The greatest gains and values are farthest from being appreciated. We easily come to doubt if they exist. We soon forget them. They are the highest reality. Perhaps the facts most astounding and most real are never communicated by man to man. The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening. It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.”

Oh Walt, you amaze me.

“Dear parents, Jasmine was in a relationship with a dirty homeless boy named Aladdin. Snow White lived alone with 7 men. Pinnochio was a liar. Robin Hood was a thief. Tarzan walked around without clothes on. A stranger kissed sleeping beauty and she married him. Cinderella lied and snuck out at night to attend a party. You can't blame us. We were taught to rebels since a young age.”

Just a reminder... growing up isn't easy.

It is so easy for some to forget the emotions and struggles children face while growing up.
My memories of childhood were sometimes lonely. Between the bullies at school who took my lunch money, the feeling of never being listened to, and the longing to be loved... life seemed to have an overflowing river of uncertainty.
My "little" reminds be so much of myself at that age... I had this painting of mine printed to a poster size, it's on the wall of my studio, there to remind me to always do my part for her.

My Little and I had a Beach Day Shellabration!

It's funny how LA-ified I have become.  Living only 20 miles from the beach you would think I'd be over there every weekend.
well.... not true.
Only have been there twice this year.

As much as I love my daily Nature walk in the mountains, something is drawing me to the breathing ocean.

Mya has only been to the beach a handful of times, and she's been living in LA for the past 10 years.
People around here get too busy to enjoy what everyone else around the world longs for.
I'm guilty of this, but the first step is acknowledgment.

Mya and I had a blaster!
We made some Shell Trees, adding them to our lovely landscaped sandy yard.
Then we built a little sand bungalow topped with shell shingles-

Played a bit of dress-up with sand....

Ended our day with an "I am" (moses code) meditation.

The Perfect Sunday Funday!
